Wellbeing
At Abermule C.P School, we believe that fostering a nurturing ethos is essential for the wellbeing of our students. By creating a supportive and caring environment, we help our learners to feel safe, valued, and understood. This positive atmosphere encourages emotional resilience, self-esteem, and a love for learning. Our focus on wellbeing ensures that each child can thrive academically and personally, developing the skills they need to navigate challenges and build strong, healthy relationships to reach their full potential.
At Abermule, we have practitioners trained in a variety of wellbeing approaches to support all of our pupils. We follow a Incredible Years and Dina School in our lower key phase and a KIVA approach as part of our ‘Together Time’ sessions for learners in years 2 to 6. We have two ELSA trained practitioners and a Trauma Informed Practitioner.
Children are encouraged to continually express their views and opinions, which provides them with a real sense of belonging. Pupil voice is embedded in all aspects of school life and it influences the strategic direction of our school.
We recognise that children may face difficulties which can impact on their wellbeing. As a school, we work with parents and families to support children and fully believe in the importance of working as a team.
Wellbeing is at the heart of our school and is pivotal for all of our stakeholders to successfully ‘Grow Together’.
